5^th World Clean Environment Summit and International conference on ‘Technological Innovations for Climate Change Mitigation and Global Warming’ was organized under the joint aegis of IQAC, Magadh Mahila College, IBRF, Kolkata, in collaboration with DNET, Patna and CIU, New Delhi. At present, global warming and climate change are the most discussed topics on the global platform. Even in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, utmost importance has been given to reducing the effects of climate change. Keeping in view the relevance of this burning issue this conference was organized to spread awareness and procure the future of the environment with latest technological and eco friendly attempts. Addressing the inaugural session, Principal Prof, Namita Kumari highlighted the glorious past of the college and mentioned the present scenario and status of the college. It is a prestigious educational institution of the state of Bihar. Magadh Mahila college campus is clean and green with natural and beautiful flora and fauna flourishing at the bank of pious river Ganga. This college has also won several awards for its congenial clean and green environment. The college has always been conscious of the issue of environmental protection and will remain conscious of its responsibilities in the future also. Chairman of Bihar State University Service Commission, Prof. Girish Kumar Choudhary, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of environmental protection and said that if we cut one tree for development, then we should contribute to environmental improvement by planting two trees in its place. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Prof.

K.C. Sinha said that today, along with conservation of energy sources, there is also a need to find new energy sources and there should be special participation of the youth in this area. Dr. Saikat Kumar Basu from University of Lethbridge, Canada, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the glorious past of Bihar and the role of Bihar in environmental protection and said that Emperor Ashoka was the first to take experimental steps towards environmental protection. Prof. Tanmoy Rudra, Executive Secretary, CIU, New Delhi announced the establishment of Bihar’s first Global Warming Reduction Center in Magadh Mahila College. Dr. Subir Mukhopadhyay, President, IBRF, Kolkata highlighted the relevance of the conference and also signed an MOU with Magadh Mahila College. Prof. B. N. Tiwari, Former Head of Department of Biotechnology, Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, emphasized the role of microbes in nature and importance of public awareness for climate change and environmental protection. Dr. Janardan jee, Chairman, DNET, Patna, propounded the importance of ground work for climate change mitigation and improvement in global warming. IBRF, Kolkata, CIU, New Delhi and DNET, Patna honored 13 research scholars and faculty members of different universities with various honors for their significant achievements and contribution in the field of education and research. Life Time Achievement Award was given to Honorable Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Prof. KC Sinha and Principal, Magadh Mahila College Prof. Namita Kumari was honored with Shiksha Ratna Award.

Dr. Saikat Kumar Basu, University of Lethbridge, Canada, Prof. Atul Aditya Pandey, Patna University, Dr. Ajay Kumar Srivastava, St. Xavier College, Ranchi (Jharkhand) 150 participants attended this conference. The program was anchored by Dr. Pushpanjali Khare organizing secretary , Dr. Arnesha Guha and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Madhu Kumari Gupta, joint organizing secretary of the conference.

On the second day of the Fifth World Clean Environment International Conference (13.12.23), total 42 participants presented research papers and 16 posters on various sub themes of climate change like;

Climate Change and Health, Biodiversity and Climate Change, Green Technology, Global Warming and Changing Ecosystems, Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience. The first technical session of the second day was chaired by Dr. Vinod Prasad, Associate Professor of Botany, Patna University and co- chaired by Dr. Sujata Kumari, Assistant Professor of Zoology, Magadh Mahila College. The second session was chaired by Dr. Surendra Kumar Prasad, Head Department of Botany, Magadh Mahila College and co-chaired by Dr. Manish Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor of Physics, Magadh Mahila College. 42 participants presented research papers orally and 46 participants presented through posters.

On the third and final day, the fifth technical session was held in seminar hall of Magadh Mahila College, Patna. The Session was presided by Dr. Saikat Kumar Basu from University of Lethbridge, Canada. In this session Prof. Birendra Prasad, Director, IQAC, Patna University, Dr. Tridib Bandopadhyay, Chairman, SERI, Kolkata, Prof. Rajneesh Kumar, Head , Department of Biochemistry, Patna University, Dr. Ram Pravesh Kumar, New Delhi, Dr. Deepak Kumar from Banaras Hindu University Varanasi (UP) and Dr. Anamika from Jamshedpur Women’s University, (Jharkhand) delivered plenary lectures on the theme of the summit and the audience enjoyed the interaction.

The Valedictory session was held at the Central auditorium of Magadh Mahila College. Welcome address was given by organizing secretary, Dr. Pushpanjali Khare, associate professor of Botany, Magadh Mahila College. Prof. Namita Kumari, Principal, Magadh Mahila College, Prof. N.K. Agrawal, State Nodal Officer of NAAC, BSHEC and Dr. Tridib Bandopadhyay, Chairman, SERI, Kolkata were the guests of honour who emphasized on incorporating the climate change mitigation efforts in our day to day life and the need for more researches in this domain. Prof. Namita Kumari expressed that such themes are pertinent in current scenario and more exchange of ideas and thoughts are required for it. She spoke that exchange of ideas and greater cooperation is required to face the problem of global warming and climate change in today’s times. Prof. N. K. Agarwal, State nodal Officer NAAC, Bihar State Higher Education Council congratulated Principal MMC and the organizing team for the huge success of this conference and asked to continue such efforts in future. He encouraged to submit the recommendation of this conference to the government. Prof. (Dr.) Meenakshi Singh, PG Head, Botany, Dr. Subir Mukhopadhyay, President, International Benevolent Research Foundation, Kolkata and Dr. Birendra Kumar, Dorector, IQAC, Patna University also graced the occasion. Dr. Saikat Kumar Basu from University of Lethbridge, Canada in his speech shared his joy of coming back to Patna for this and highlighted the contributions of great civilizations and cultures of Bihar and its contribution in environmental conservation, biodiversity and preservation of ecosystems since time immemorial. IBRF also gave awards to best oral and poster presentations to participants as well. Some of the delegates also shared their valuable feedback about this conference. Dr. Arnesha Guha member secretary, IBRF, Kolkata, Head, Research and academics, SERI, Kolkata gave the concluding remarks about the conference. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Pushpalata Kumari, IQAC coordinator, Magadh Mahila College. The Conference was successfully organized, leaving a footprint on the page of awareness programs regarding research and development of Magadh Mahila College, Patna.
