Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics in Magadh Mahila College came into existence in July, 2014. The teaching of Statistics at undergraduate level was started in Magadh Mahila College from academic session 2014-2015 with the proper permission from the Government of Bihar. Statistics is a very important subject for science as well as social science students.Till now there is no regular teacher in the Department. Prof. (Dr.) Abha Sharan a faculty member of Physics Department,was the founder Head of the Statistics Department from July 2014 to 30 Nov. 2017 .On 1 December 2017,after the retirement of Prof.( Dr.) Abha Sharan, Ms.Sonu Rani Assistant Professor ,Department of Physics became the Head of the Statistics Department.Dr. Priyadarshini, Ms. Bhavana Kumari, Mr.Alok Pritam and Ms. Anjum Khatoon are the visiting faculty members of the Departments.Prof. (Dr.) Anchala Kumari, a Retired Professor of the Department of Statistics, Patna University is also engaging classes and guiding our students. She is an excellent teacher and our students will get benefited a lot from her vast experience.Academic as well as extracurricular performance of our students is consistently good.
